Yesterday I was meant to get back on plan but xmas shopping meant the day got away from me and ended up eating nachos at the cinema in the evening after a burger for lunch.
But today I seem to have recommitted, Ive been and done my shop and planned the rest of my week. I am craving crap badly but I know its cos Ive eaten it all weekend and the more I eat the more I crave it.
Now to get back to the gym tonight. Gonna have to strap my ankle its aching like a *kitten* today both on the sprained ligaments and on my already dodgy achilles. Off to royal mail sorting office for 2 missed parcels though so hoping one of them is my wrestling boots I bought to train in thinking they might support my achilles better

I'm glad for you to mentally force the psychological and physical into place.
I know what you mean about craving crap... I actually broke down and had soda/soft drink some this past weekend and now, ugh...
I'm glad you know your body and can wrap and strap it up, but I know whenever my plantar fasciitis flares up badly, if I don't rest, it just progressively gets worse until I am crying in a little ball on the floor, figuratively, mostly. So my instinctive panic of REST, STUPID that I usually have to yell at myself is kicking into gear every time I hear you talk about pushing it. LOL
Good luck with the wrestling boots. Another thing we have here in the states that I don't know if you have over there that has helped SO RIDICULOUSLY MUCH are a shoe insert called SPENCO. That is the brand. They are so supportive, I've had so many fewer issues since I started using them.0 -
I'm so glad you are able to get back on track after a splurge. I find it so difficult.0

Yeah its not easy because after allowing the rubbish food in now its all i want. This week my focus is purely on my calories and if i est more fat and carbs but come in under goal all good. Im on nights all weekend so will get those out the way and 'survive' this week calorie wise before trying to get back to what i was doing before next week.
The boots wont work they are too rigid at the back. Im gutted but will have to send them back as they were nearly 40 pound and that money could definitely be used elsewhere. Back to the drawing board shoe wise0 -
Check out those inserts and see if you can find them online... They have been a godsend. Even walking and jogging, I haven't had to even stretch much since I began using them, and I was always having to stretch due to my heel tendons... They are so amazing I can't imagine. And you should be able to get them easily for the price of those boots, and they'll work in any of your closed shoes...0

I find soda to be a hard (effen hardest thing I know) to break the cycle of... I'm fine when I don't drink soda, but GOD help me if I do. I become a raving lunetic and want more and more and more still.0

I had Pepsi for two or three days over the weekend because it is my fiance's drink of choice. His second choice is sweet tea (ZERO temptation there!) and coffee on occasion (less than ZERO temptation, thankfully). Each time I had an 8 oz or so size glass, about 30 minutes later, it was a near compulsion to have more. Luckily, being back at work, I'm good with water, and even yesterday, that compulsion had eased off. But I do hot tea with Splenda (going to look into Stevia next supply trip), and caffeine supplements approved by my doctor, so I only have to kick the sugar habit, not the caffeine portion. I think that doubly whammy is why it is so hard to kick. So maybe, if you find an alternative caffeine source, it might be easier to kick?0

Because I am having WLS, I have to give up the caffeine.... so I started now. I was taking stay awake pills found at wal-mart.... can't do them anymore.0
-
That stinks! I have an unrelated female issue that makes passing solid waste difficult. If I wasn't allowed the caffeine, I'd have to take meds that would make me more likely to need diaper cream since I have no gallbladder, and that would be hell!!
Why is it that caffeine is a no-no for WLS? I've been told before but it never stuck with me...0 -
Caffeine doesn't allow for the absorption of certain vitamins and minerals, so with rny being malabsorptive to begin with.... caffeine is out.0
-
And WLS compounds that absorption issue...so yes, makes sense... So sorry!! With my thyroid issue compounded by PCOS, I don't think I could survive anymore without the caffeine and vitamin supplements. My Endo even agrees with my meds/supplements. I long for the day when I can go back to no caffeine... Made life simpler!
Breaking any habit is difficult. I wish you strength! You could try the kiddie method... Slowly dilute your soda with water a little more each day...subtle, but it works...0 -
Will look into inserts. Im not bothered about kicking the soda totally. I have a cpl a week normally. Pepsi max when im at costa or something though I dont keep it in the house.0

LOL - Inserts were for you, Lise. Soda kicking was for Carrie!0
