Anyone's spouse/partner doing SL?

My husband expressed some vague interest in Stronglifts when I first told him i was doing it. I would like him to; he does cardio (rowing or running) 5 times a week, but no weights or resistance. I think it would be really good for him. We have a rack, bench and oly weight set at home, which is where I work out. We wouldn't work out at the same time, which is good, since at this point I'd be lifting way more than him for at least the first month or so. Plus he can't take criticism from me about weight lifting, even though I've had way more experience than him over the years. We had a bad experience when we tried working out at the Y together several years ago, so I just don't offer advice anymore. :grumble: All I can do is direct him to youtube videos for form.

My husband started a few weeks ago. We do often work out together, but years of collaborating on art installations has helped us work out an efficient and ego-friendly coaching strategy. Plus he has a good eye for form, so he helps me as much as I help him. He usually plays basketball, but feels like as he gets older, he needs to compensate for his loss of speed with a little more mass. I can't say I'm disappointed.

My husband did but he's much more amenable to being talked through form issues than yours sounds like. Still, he'd be working out alone right? just give him the videos and articles -- and also, offer to show up a few times with him and take video of him for himself to watch and review. YOu will NOT review it - just give him the video to see himself.

People keep asking me if my husband lifts. As he told me today, he likes to get his reps in by lifting the beer to his mouth. I don't expect him to ever have the desire to step foot into the gym let alone join me in lifting. He does a lot of work on the family farm and does run and do some body weight stuff so it isn't like he is out of shape.

my boyfriend and I lift together. He started SL about 3 months after me. He is very fit and lean but wanted to build super bada$$ muscles so I showed him what I was doing. It was a bit of a hit to his ego to have me show him correct form on some lifts, or critique the way he did something... Now all is well. He is still doing SL and I'm on a different program but we still enjoy it together.
