Calorie intake!

Good Morning everyone,

I was curious how many of you all are actually taking in the calories that the Insanity program recommends? My recommended amount is 2200 (with the minus 500 for weight loss) and that number frightens me some, so i stick to about 1600-1900. I have a day or two I might get to 2000 depending. I don't factor in my exercise, so this is only my intake, not my net calories. I can burn anywhere from 450-650 a day depending on what I do. I had started the week at 1400-1500 calories and it felt too little and was getting a bit woozy and didn't have the energy. So far this combo fits, but only trial and error will let me know if I should up the calories or reduce. I haven't lost lbs yet, but I have lost inches. We'll see how the end of week 3 treats me! I was just curious how everyone else is doing calories wise :) Good luck everyone!

Morning. Wow that is a lot of calories a day. How did you find that number. When I entered my info on myfitnesspal, it suggests 1500 a day, but I knocked it down to 1300 a day. Lately I have been going over that with events and things, but if I follow it 100% I lose. Those are definitely good questions. Im going to look into it and see what I find out. I definitely will not be using that large amount and it is scary. I hope you have a beautiful day!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

Yea. If you look at the nutrition guide that Insanity provides and use their calculations, I would be at 2200 calories. I did it several times to be sure! lol

My set calories for myfitnesspal is 1550. I usually eat anywhere from 1600-2000 depending on the day and what my meals are like. I don't tend to label foods as no-no's unless it's fast food. There I am pretty particular since so much is fried. If I want ice cream I eat ice cream, I just make sure I've eaten better throughout the day to make up for it.

I don't have it in me or the time to really follow the nutrition guide Insanity gives us. I looked at it and it's not practical for my life. I do wonder how people who follow it do.

Between doing Insanity and walking in the evenings I seldom go over on my net and usually hover around a net of 1200. I didn't lose last week but I've seen several who don't lose pounds at first with Insanity, they do lose inches. My clothes do seem to be fitting differently so maybe that's what's going on with me.

Yes, I'm sure that's what it is. At least, that's what I'm going to keep telling myself. If it hit the end of 4 weeks and still no lbs lost, I'll have to readjust my calories somewhere. I did read that its good to zig zag your caloric intake. Like if my goal is 1900, one day to 1600, another day 2100, another day 1900....just to keep your body guessing and allowing your metabolism to regulate. But I'll resort to that later if needed lol

i agree. for the most part, if i want something i will eat it. otherwise i might go really crazy. I set my cals for the day at 1490. that is what the insanity calculator gave me. oh no i wont follow the food nutrition guide for insanity. to me that is not realistic and i have a big family to feed everyday and i dont have time for that...lol which i totally agree with you. thanks and i will post in a few weeks to see if upping my cals worked.

oh i didnt know about zig zagging your cals. good to know. ill try then eventually. lol all this information is nuts. but i guess because everyone's body is different and everyone does not workout the same when doing the same program. oh well i will work on my cals to see if it makes a difference for me after a few weeks. im hoping. :) have a great day!
