Crohns and Me

Hello,
I'm 21 years old and have been living with crohns since I was 15. I'm having a resection( small bowel) hopefully this year ( cross my fingers). I am currently on imuran and am not eating. I can barely even do a liquid diet. Smoothies, shakes, juices and even soup have been giving me a ton of pain/ sent me to the bathroom for long amounts of time. I'm mainly trying to myself going on water. This probably sounds stupid but I'm still trying to lose weight through this. I'm exercising every day but not losing much. I need help to lose weight. I was wondering what exercises you all do that don't bugger up your joints to much?

I would think that you would not be trying to lose weight at this time since you sound like you are in a flare-up. Perhaps you should try liquid nutrition, ie: boost or ensure to keep your calories up. It is not good to only be drinking water, you need to get enough calories each day or you could get wasting syndrome, which believe me is in no way fun. I developed this in April after being so sick that I was only consuming 500 cal each day due to the food restrictions imposed on me by the doctor and the diarrhea I was suffering from (going 15 x/day). I ended up in the hospital for 7 days with 24 hour TPN through a PICC Line in my arm...and several side effects that are still ongoing now, like hair loss.0
