Pre-Challenge Accountability

Hi everyone! I was part of the first 100 days challenge but fell short of my goal. I think one of my problems was that I got lazy. So I'm going to try to remedy that by making myself accountable to log in and post daily.
I was part of a group a long time ago that required people to log in every day and post if they (1) had logged absolutely everything they ate/drank (2) had stayed under their calorie limit for the day and (3) had done something active for 20 minutes that day.
My best weight loss was when I stuck with those three rules, so I am going to challenge myself to post about that every day -- starting now, so that I don't gain too many pounds before Jan. 11. Hopefully this time I will reach my final goal!
Anyone want to join me?

I know i need help with accountability and up for the challenge....count me in! Would we enter the daily log here or somewhere else?0
-
Id like to do this too. Maybe a shared google doc of some kind?0
-
I am not very tech-y. If someone else knows how to or wants to make a Google doc, or even a separate group, I would be happy to add my info to it.
If not, whoever is the first person to log on at the end of the day can just start a new discussion with the title "Accountability (Date)" and then everyone else can reply. My time zone is GMT +2:00, so I am probably one of the first people in the group to finish my day.0 -
In the previous 100 Days group we did have a daily thread with the exact same purpose. For few days I can do the same but since I am maintaining the spreadsheet so I will request the group members to pitch in if they don't find the daily thread.0

Nice job, forevertoday! Elosogrande - good job being honest and posting even though you didn't meet all the goals. I know it's easy to just not post when you can't say yes to everything. But stick with it!0

Here are the accountability questions for the end of the day --
Did you track absolutely everything you ate and drank today?
Did you stay under your calorie limit?
Were you active for at least 20 minutes?
YES, I tracked and stayed under my calorie limit. Really hard as DH is finishing his day with a big plate of tortilla chips with nacho cheese. Yum. But I'm staying strong.
YES, I put in 30 minutes on the exercise bike.0 -
Wahoo.. I love getting on here and I just found this group, so excited... I need accountability and motivators and LOVE motivating others!!
Yes, I tracked EVERYTHING I ate and rank!
Yes, I stayed under my calorie limit.
YES, I was active, and got almost 2 miles in 30 minutes!!!0 -
Count me in. I will start being accountable on Monday, but so far starting today I have tracked everything!0
-
Super job, fillingame! Ereilly - nice start. Enjoy your weekend. :-)0

Did you stay under calorie limit? Yes
Were you active for at least 20 minutes? No... but will get back on track with this on Monday when kids go back to school.0 -

Way to go, elosogrande and krizaten!! Mechdonna and allie -- 2 out of 3 isn't bad. Keep challenging yourselves. :-)
Okay, here are the accountability questions again:

Did you track absolutely everything you ate and drank today?

Were you active for at least 20 minutes?
YES, I tracked and stayed under my limit. I know that this is really helping me because I am watching my portion sizes much more closely, and I'm sure that bigger-than-I-realize portions are a culprit in me not losing weight when I get lazy and don't track.
YES, I exercised today. 40 minutes on the exercise bike + 10 minutes lifting weights = enough extra calories to have a little treat at the end of the day.
Good luck, everyone!
BTW, if several people are interested in continuing the accountability questions, I can make either a new thread every week or a new thread every day. This is a little different than the regular thread b/c I am challenging people to post at the end of the day about what you really did, rather than about goals. For me, this is huge motivator b/c if I don't post until the next morning, it's easier to say "Oh, well, tomorrow's a new day," than if I have to post about not meeting my goals that night.
What are your thoughts? Would you like a weekly thread to stay on track with answering the questions about the end of each day? Or a daily one?0 -
garyandkimber, you are doing awesome. Feel free to create any thread you like.0

I tracked everything I ate.
I was active more than 20 min.
I was under my calorie goal.0 -
Did you track absolutely everything you ate and drank today? Yes.
Did you stay under your calorie limit? So far.
Were you active for at least 20 minutes? Not yet. Hubby is building my bookshelf. Going to do an hour of new videos on Youtube. Trying out ones that I may like too keep me motivated and having fun while working out.0 -

Feel free to add this discussion to the daily threads that already get started every day.
Not that you have to, but it will keep us from having two daily threads.0 -

Most people post if they hit their goals the day before, then post their new goals for the day.
I think the daily threads will meet the needs of this thread.

I'm in starting today. Do I add my name to the Google list?0
-
For January 3rd:
Did you track absolutely everything you ate and drank today? yes
Did you stay under your calorie limit? yes
Were you active for at least 20 minutes? yes0 -
-
Did you track absolutely everything you ate and drank today?
Yes. I stayed under calorie goal and drank 12 cups of water.
Were you active for at least 20 minutes?
I don't know if it counts, but I did walk over 30 minutes in the store. I can't walk that long with out holding a shopping cart. I really hope this gets better as I lose more weight.0 -
Nice job, everyone!! So as to not clutter up the board too much, but still keep a place for people who want to encourage each other with these specific accountability questions, I will create a weekly thread. You can look for the first one and post there if you are interested.0
