My goal has been to up my game - I typically get to the gym 3-4 times a week and do a half hearted 30 minutes on the elliptical. So, my goal is to both up the time and intensity whenever possible. Ideally 45-60 minutes and when I can't do that much to make myself work harder with the time I have. If at all possible, then I would like to get to 4-5 workouts a week, even if it is just a walk in the evening. My job (school librarian) means that I get my steps in on the days I am teaching, but my grad school work means I am tied to a computer when I am not. It's a juggling act!
Thank you to 1013Carl for running the boards and generally doing an amazing job keeing us going!0 -
Yep - I'm the same. Time to up my game. I was able to get some good work in over the long weekend but my real work and commuting is going to impact the weekday workouts. Contemplating joining the YMCA but need to look at the cost. I do something almost every day but I need to be able to increase the intensity.

I've been sick for a month so today was day one of getting back into working out. It was tough but it's going to be good to get back into a routine. My goal is to get back into a minimum of 4 bootcamp classes per week.
Monday: 1 hour Muay Thai bootcamp0 -
Here on MFP I started out walking as my main activity (16 stories in the parking garage)... then realized to burn more calories I had to do more.. To crank it up I began biking on the weekends and that increased my weekly totals.... by between 1,500 to 4,200 calories and that made a big difference.
I had some life issues creep in and sidelined me a bit for a few months since they took up most of my spare time.
Now getting back on track, I've purchased a "Bike Trainer" that lets me pedal at home when it suits me and is convenient.
My goal is burning 300 calories minimum a day through exercising... Often it may be twice that, depending how the day goes and how I feel.
A friend showed me the benefits of working out in the morning... and now that's becoming the norm for me.
I think I'll be doing very well by the end of February.
Today I had burned 300 calories exercising by 7:30am...
On a side note.... Every Day is a new day... this group is a great place "daily" because of what you (the members) do.
Crank it up and have fun
I appreciate your complements but really, I'm just a member like the rest of you, prodding and supporting my friends.... make some friends and support each other... the rewards will keep you coming back for more!
Doesn't get much simpler that that!
Thanks for all you do!
