CHAPTER 1

WHOO HOO! So I see we have at least 4 of us who are ready to start living the life we were created to live and treat our bodies as the temples they are.
In reading the first chapter, what stands out? Is it the fact that instead of turning to God when you're hurt, you turn to food? I TOTALLY get it! I mean, food doesn't reject you and for the most part it's ALWAYS around.
In chapter 1, Lysa says "We were made to crave - long for, want greatly, desire eagerly, and beg for God. Only God." I SO DO NOT DO THAT! I long for, want greatly, desire eagerly, and beg for chips, cake, pasta and all that other stuff. I don't believe I've ever said "I'll get the veggies" while watching a movie. Nope! I'm PRETTY sure I said popcorn.
I'm working on my cravings. I'm sure you are too or else you wouldn't be here. But here we are. And we're in this together.
If you haven't already, please read chapter 1 and look at the section Personal Reflections on page 25. Answer these in your own time, but before you do, make sure you have truly done some soul searching. I answered number 4 and almost cried because I had to be totally honest and admit I get lured away from loving God and distracted from feasting on His word all too easily. I'm ashamed to admit, but again, it's the truth.
After you read, please come back and reply to this thread and share what blessed you about the reading material. I'm looking forward to going on this journey with you!

Thanks for the heads up; the personal reflections are challenging indeed. Still reflecting on them.0
