Anyone work night shifts?

I work rotating 8 hr shifts in a hospital. Because evening shifts make me miss derby practice, I end up working just days and nights. I work night shift every 3-4 weeks. So, my easiest options for lifting those weeks are either after school drop off, before I go to bed, or before I pick my daughter up from after-care, after I wake up. I discovered this week that the weight room is pretty empty at 9 am on week days, which is good. I assume it will be much busier at 3:30-4 pm.

So, has anyone ever lifted after a night shift? Ok, horrible idea, or just try it an see how I cope?

I normally lift after I work, but I don't work night shift. I would say try it one or two days to see how your body reacts. Your body may be totally cool with it.

If you don't want to do that, then I'd go at 9AM since you'll have to deal with fewer people. I don't know where you are, but my gym starts getting busy between 3 and 4, and peaks between 5 and 6. If you can avoid those time frames, I would.

I have. I go back and forth between days and nights. Working out after work is little bit more difficult-because, well, you're tired. But it didn't make a night and day(haha) difference to me.
