Added exercise vs steps

I think I am doing something wrong. I forgot to set the stopwatch when I went to the gym this morning. I added the exercise afterwards and tried to match up the times....the steps didn't reduce, when the exercise was added. I know if I start the stopwatch, it doesn't count the steps, right? Sooooo, did my activity count double in the case? (in regards to calories)

I'm not sure if your question was ever answered but I'm interested to know too. Trying to figure out the best way to input data from hrm into jawbone app to account for calorie burn.

I'd be interested to know the answer to this also. YouTube might have a video. I'll check and come back if I find something.

Any exercise logged in MFP overrides your UP data during that time, so there's never any "double dipping."

No need to log any step-based activity, since your UP is already tracking that for you. Non-step exercise (like biking or swimming) can be logged either in UP or in MFP—never both. I log in UP—it doesn't appear in my MFP newsfeed, but I value an accurate TDEE over "likes" from my friends.

You can log exercise in UP with or without the stopwatch—it's entirely a matter of personal preference.
