I have fitbit flex & I can log my stuff & it shows im within my calories & the next morning I go check & it says I went over. when does fitbit/mfp calculate the final numbers??? Like is there a certain time at night it finally calculates everything? sorry don't know if this has been asked before but im at work so cant keep searching. hopefully this makes since because im not going to be successful if this keeps happening I think im fine than shows I went over.

It completes the day at 11:59:59 when you have the last opportunity to exercise. I leave a 50 calorie buffer in the bank for moments like this. The other option is to uncheck the "Enable Negative Adjustments" option Settings>Diary Settings. This will help greatly!0

thank you so much for responding I will try that0

Your calorie burn from last sync to midnight is estimated, and it's not known what it is exactly until you sync in the morning.
Calorie Estimation is what causes Fitbit to give MFP a high calorie goal.
Under Fitbit Food goals, selecting sedentary means minimal calorie burn assumed until sync proves otherwise, selecting personal means historical average calorie burn assumed until a sync.
Negative adjustment isn't going to do much unless you actually burn less than MFP is estimating on it's own.
And even if that is the case, disabling it merely means you are fooling yourself in to thinking you obtained a certain deficit when you really didn't.
Likely you had some positive, but it just wasn't as positive in the morning after a fresh sync.0 -
I was very slow to figure this out as well. Your fitbit projects your calorie burn until the end of the day (midnight) based on your day. You'll see it constantly update when you sync. It doesn't seem to recognize the possibility that somebody goes to sleep before midnight. Even if I've had a relatively sedentary day, it over-projects what I'll burn between the time I last sync and midnight. On a non-sedentary day, especially if I've been active at night, it can over-project by as much as 75 calories. I've built in a buffer and I try to always leave 50 calories on the table at the end of the day now. Annoying. I wish you could tell it to project after a certain hour based on resting burn. I want my fitbit to tell me how I'm doing, not play psychic.0
