I haven't been using my HRM because most of my activity is walking so I just use my fitbit. I started C25K the other day and again just used my fitbit and went by it -- today I used my HRM and just wanting to double check -- I log exercise on the MFP side and let it adjust.

Do I need to set the timer on my fitbit too? I have the One -- so do I NEED to hold down the button for a few seconds and then again when I am done or is that unnecessary? I figure if I adjust the time in MFP it will be ok but want to be sure.

So log in MFP not Fitbit correct?
AND do I NEED to set the timer on my fitbit or not?

Thanks so much!!

You can log in either place, same end result.
Logging in MFP requires an extra sync over to Fitbit, and then back again for total daily burn change.
Suggest you look at Exercise history or Diary in either place to decide which site allows you to review the workouts better. It's annoying to decide you want to see performance improvements say, and find out that reviewing the workouts is a pain in the rear to see anything useful.

You only need to use the timer if you want an easy record of start time and duration to use in your manual logging. It merely keeps track of the stats for that block of time for later review, instead of normally just being included in the daily stats. But that can indeed be useful if down the road you want to compare.

Like if you lost 10 lbs, you should be able to go back and see an increased pace merely for that reason, plus getting more fit.
