My fitbit just reset as I was running

I've had my fitbit for more than six months, long enough to have gone through the experience of tech supporting my unit and knowing to manually move the battery contact when it does not turn on. But I just tried running with it for the first time and it reset while I was running. From 4000 steps back to 0. This is so frustrating! It still has issues where it sometimes will just not turn on, and now it's resetting itself?!? Does anyone else have this problem? I just want my Fitbit to count my steps, like it's supposed to!
