Pregnancy and Fitness

I'm not sure if this group is very active or not but thought I would give it a try. I have lost 50 lbs after baby #1 (50lbs after losing baby weight weight.) I am terrified of gaining weight again. I know it is for my baby, but the emotional aspect of seeing that number go up scares me. My question is, as far as weight lifting, what can I and can I NOT do? The internet has so much conflicting info. I want to continue to lift and stay strong through my pregnancy, but I also want to be safe. Thanks.
P.S. Also, does anyone know other groups on MFP for pregnancy and fitness? Thanks!

Hi! I am in the same situation as you-- second pregnancy, but do not want to gain as much weight the second time. From what I have read (disclaimer, I am not a doctor), you can maintain your fitness levels during pregnancy, but don't try to improve them. For example, if you benchpress X lbs for Y reps, or you run Z miles/day, you can continue to do so during your pregnancy. I have heard that you don't want to begin a new exercise routine during pregnancy (unless it is low stress, like walking, swimming, prenatal yoga).0

Oh, and I found the following groups on MFP that may or may not be more active:
