I let my fitbit track the steps

I let Fitbit track steps and synch with MFP. If I do a different exercise that it can't track, then I add the type of exercise (like swimming) and then add the amount of time I did the exercise.

For stepbased activites, I let the FitBit figure it out.

For non-stepbased activites (biking, lifting weights, swimming), I log it in the FitBit app/exercise database and let it sync to MFP. I personally feel it's more accurate that way because FitBit can capture all of your exercises and steps and give MFP one whole number to add or subtract.

If flat and Fitbit is correct on the distance, leave the Fitbit estimate.

If hilly or pushing stroller or carrying extra weight, or the distance was a fair amount off, manual workout using HRM calorie burn.

And correct the stride length if incorrect distance was issues.
