Day 6 of a 7 Day Juice Week

At the enthusiastic recommendation of my yoga teacher (do you always do what your yoga teacher tells you to do? Well - yes - usually; its a trust thing) I went on a 7 day juice detox because it has worked for him and he had lost 10lbs - mind you his partner says he doesn't hydrate enough. She lost 4lbs the same week and she drinks 2 litres of water daily.
- Well I am 6 days in, I am sick of drinking pineapple and apple juice and I don't feel any better than I did before, but then I was feeling pretty ok before anyway.
- I have lost my planned 1lb and the only difference I have felt is the annoying sugar highs from all the fruit juice.
- I wasn't toxic before (whatever that means) so I don't feel any more "detoxed" and I am looking forward to getting back to normal calorie and macro controlled eating and I'm sure my gut is too - fibre is meant to be eaten folks!
- It was interesting and a useful break in my eating pattern to give time to seeing where I let myself down and how to improve things - late night snacking is a big trap for me - so early to bed!
- If I were to introduce juicing to my daily eating I would go for smoothies so the fibre goes down as well and that would be a good way of consuming more tough leafy greens like kale, spinach etc when I really don't fancy eating a plate full of compost!
- an interesting week but one I won't be repeating for a while.
