Post op drinking (not alcohol)

So I posted this question to my facebook support group but also would like feedback from this lovely group of people.
I knew I would have to slowly sip my liquids while recovering from surgery. But I wanted to know if I could ever drink larger swallows after fully recovering. I certainly hope I don't have to carefully sip my way through 64oz of liquids after say a year post op. But most of the feedback from long term sleevers I got was that they still can only take small sips.
What has been your experience with drinking liquid after healing? how far out of the surgery are you.

I am a little over four months out and I can take more "normal" sips now. I try not to drink too fast though or else I will still feel too full.0

I am about 15 months out. I can take normal sips but I can't gulp down my drinks like before. It does make me feel full and when I accidentally did it, it gave me bad hiccups.0

I am only 9 weeks out, but I can tell that I can drink a little more normal sips now than right after surgery. As the others have said, I can't gulp, which makes it a little harder to get fluids in when I'm working out.0

I can drink a decent sized mouthful of water at a time, but I try not to. My usual mistakes are taking too large of a gulp on the elliptical, then I have to try and swallow half at a time.0

I am one year out and can guzzle like a champ. That being said, first thing in the morning, I cannot gulp--for some reason I have a lot more restriction then, but by late morning it is not a problem.0

I am a little over 4 months out as well and I can take normal sips. I cannot chug which I found the hard way. I got heavy into working out one day and started gulping like I used to without thinking. Won't do that again, but now I've learned how to drink steadily and I don't feel like I'm just baby sitting a bottle of water all day.0

3.5 years out. I can chug, guzzle etc as I could pre -sleeve. However, only on an empty stomach.0

I am 3 months post op and can drink normal. I don't guzzle just because I don't want to actually get too full, but I can definitely drink normally.0

I am only 9 or 10 days post op and I can drink normally. I haven't noticed a problem with drinking at all, although I haven't attempted chugging. Now, my protein shake on the other hand, that's another story. I have to take it slow with the shakes, but water goes down just the way it always did.0

I'm 6 months postoperative and can drink normally, I never did gulp before surgery. Getting my 48 oz water is definitely easier than a few months ago.0

I am 3.5 years out and I can drink normally. However, I can just guzzle a whole glass of cold anything. Well I can but I'm very uncomfortable if I do.0

I'm about 10 weeks out and already sipping better. Out of fear though, I find myself getting a big gulp in my mouth then kinda swallow it in halves to compensate.
Early, my biggest issue was taking in too much air while drinking. It hurt in my chest, then I was afraid to drink more. Once I figured out to exhale before (or after in my mouth) before swallowing I was better off.0
