Hi ladies-
Hope that you are all doing well. I have a quick question. Do any of you nurse in a sling? I will have a 2.5 year old at home when this baby comes so nursing on the move is going to be a must in the first couple of weeks when the baby nurses ALL the time Any advice that you can offer on either the kind of sling or what worked well for you would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Get the moby!! It's adjustable and will grow as your baby grows. And also your husband can use it.
I didnt know better so ended up buying two slings , one for me and one for hubby.
We have the ergo organic too which is better for long walks once baby weighs more, nursing in this is more difficult.0 -
Thanks! I just got a moby and was hoping that I would be able to nurse in it. Did you nurse in it even with an infant?0

I nurse in my Baby Hawk all the time. I just set it a bit lower on the hips and turn it to the side a bit.
I had a moby with my son and i much preferred it over a sling any day. The slings were always uncomfortable because they are only one-shouldered, which caused neck and shoulder pain for me.0 -

Great thank you! Did you nurse in the moby? If so, did it work well and did you do it with your child as an infant?0 -

Yes, with the moby I also nursed when my son was just a wee infant. It was easy to do, and actually was better if you're a bit modest. You can hide your breast easier than with a mei tai, although by baby no. 2 I no longer care who sees what. LOL
My only issue with the moby was that due to its stretchiness, it became uncomfortable to wear by the time my son was 15 pounds (about 4 months) because I had to constantly retie it. I'm also petite. We then went to the Baby Hawk and a homemade gauze wrap, both of which are sturdier, IMO.0 -
I regret that I didn't buy the moby. Yes you can nurse in it. I have nursed in a regular sling but had to wait till she had better head control for that. Moby is good for newborn.0

I nurse in ring slings, wraps, mei tai's all of the time! The moby will work for the wee babe stage. If you're planning to use a wrap for many months or years, I'd recommend a woven wrap, like Storchenwiege or Didymos. Moby is made of a stretchy material which will sag or need a supportive hand to comfortably nurse after baby gets a little bigger. A woven wrap will hold its structure and can support baby into toddler hood. Another bonus,..a woven can be used to carry baby on your back, which is something that a Moby shouldn't be used for (again, stretchy/saggy material). Don't get me wrong...Moby is great! Just not for long term.
You're moby will be great for your newborn stage . If you love it, look into a woven to keep you and baby going strong!0
