I HOPE TO SAY I HAVE THE SOUND MIND...AND MOST DAYS I DO...but self discipline is really great too! It's what I believe God has worked with me on for years...and yet - I know that it's not self discipline...unless it's the conscious choice to submit to God's authority that results in "self" being disciplined....

Thanks for the post...it reminded me that I'm not being disciplined right now....
I need to go to sleep.....
    and start again tomorrow....

DS I think your statement "I know that it's not self discipline...unless it's the conscious choice to submit to God's authority that results in "self" being disciplined.... " is exactly what the scripture is talking about. Self-discipline to me is the willingness of my spirit to listen to God's voice and do what I know He wants me to do. To make a conscious effort to take care of myself, eat right, exercise, witness to others, let Him lead and guide me. Taking care of His Temple and encouraging others in His Word takes 'self-discipline.'
