Calorie calculation, FitBit Charge HR

Hey!! I'm wondering if anyone can answer this question... How does FitBit calculate the calories you should be burning on any given day? I think it's the BMR??? I'm asking because it changes every once in a while. For example the past few days its been steady at 2283, but before that it was at 2184.
Also, does this mean I should be burning more calories than this estimate? I'm worried that I'm not burning enough calories since I average a burn of about 2200 per day.
I've generally been following MFP's calories of 1200 per day + whatever extra calories I gain from exercise.
I'm new to fitbit so I'm still trying to figure this out.
Thanks!!

Answered in other thread.
Additional, since the HRM version, if HR goes up enough with steps so it knows you are exercising, it uses HR to estimate calorie burn for that time.
Not seen their cut-off, so hopefully they went by what studies have found, 90 bpm.0
