First attempt at calisthenics

Went to calisthenics today. Was the fattest one there including the blokes. We climbed up ropes, cargo nets, did tricep dips on the parallel bars, did pull ups or TRX rows depending on ability and used the resistance bands to work triceps. Gave every single exercise a go even though I couldnt do the pull ups, had to use a resistance band to 'aid' my tricep dips and had to use my feet to climb up the rope. Then had to have a go at 'negative' muscle ups. Basically jump onto one of the parallel bars so your belly is resting on it with arms straight then lower yourelf slowly to floor. Found this very frustrating bc my belly got in the way. Last exercise was standing to the side of the parallel bars on a box and haiving to jump over the bar landing between them. Gave it 5 attempts. Cleared it successfully on 3 and crashed out on two have some epic bruising coming up on shins and knees.
All in all am actually quite proud of myself. I was the heaviest one there, the least experienced and I tried every single exercise which some of them didnt and even though I crashed out or couldnt do all of them I was first in line to try most of them. I am gonna ache like a mofo tomorrow though

You never cease to amaze me, woman! I'm a lot like you...I'll try most anything once. I get very frustrated by my physical limitations, but I can't get past them without some hard work, and I'm getting there. Thanks for forever inspiring me to push harder, Lise.0

You inspire plenty people including me (woman!). I cant wait for the day I have lost what you have so far and you are unflinchingly honest.
Well the bruising isnt as bad as feared, brunt of it on right knee and a good one on right shin. By most peoples standards its not that impressive but I literally never bruise so its amazing by my standards. Might have to go to that class again though. Love pushing the limits of what I can do even if its frustrating at first0 -
I'm glad our circle of continuing energies is of positive ones!
You had less to lose to start with. I realized yesterday that I have literally lost a little over 1/4 of my starting weight... Crazy. I have as much to go as I've already done, and it doesn't seem any easier now than then... The tricks our brains play...
I appreciate your understanding of my honesty. I don't know any other way to be. Fake just doesn't come easy, and I can't lie for anything.
Glad the bruising isn't bad! Wish you luck in trying that class again.0 -
Nice! I love it when I see a story that may be intimidating to one's former self but the new self gives it all they've got. Keep at it.0
