Starting today!

I am getting married for the 2nd time on Sept 7th of this year. I have been wanting to lose weight since getting engaged on Valentines day and weighed in at 225 (I am 5'7" & 58 yrs old) so far lost 20 lbs and put 5 of that back on after travelling for work and just slipping down the old well worn slippery slope of food familiarity!
I am currently weighing in at 2009 as of this morning so things are starting to shift again, but I would like to lose 40 lbs before buying my dress! So I guess that is pushing it a bit! But still I like the idea.
I have not been exercising and really need to. I am seeing my naturopath and beginning a program called Healthy & Active which is done by taking blood work and determining your metabolism make up and what the best foods are for it to be optimized. It also includes a work out program. I hope to begin this this week or early next!
I know I would feel a lot better about myself if I could shed those lbs. I also have to take it easy as I have some nasty side effects of being on chemotherapy as I had breast cancer in 2009. One of the drugs left me with peripheral neuropathy which means my muscles do not get the right signals from my nerves as they are damaged in my feet and lower legs. So the muscles tend to fatigue easily and do not bounce back like they would if they were getting the right messages from my nerves. I cannot let this limit me as it seems like giving up on life.
I look forward to sharing the journey with you all.
