Is there a way too adapt my fitness pal settings to just see the key nutritional info we need, I.e.protein, fluid, calories.

I haven't found a way, but I just ignore the rest0

I have not found a way to do it either. It doesn't seem to like anyone eating under 1000 calories per day.0

This can be done but you have to go to two places.
First, go to My Home -> Goals -> Change Goals (at the bottom of the screen) -> Custom and then change your Nutritional Daily Goals (like calories, percentages for protein, carbs, etc.) and Save.
Then, go to My Home -> Settings -> Diary Settings and change Nutrients Tracked so that your Food Diary shows the most important elements in the order you want to see them. For instance, I just changed mine to show Protein, Carbs, Fat, Sodium and Sugar.
Unfortunately, there's no way to list water tracking there, so you'll need to continue doing it with the water tracker at the bottom of your Food Diary.
Hope that helps!0 -
changing the settings works and will allow you to track your intake. however, if you try to "complete" the record for the day MFT won't let you if your calorie intake is too low0

I just found this post in a low carb forum and thought of you guys. I just tried it and it works - it does remove your calories column. Not sure yet if it still triggers the low consumed calories prompt or not at the end of the day, but at least it will let you put your Food Diary focus on protein.
"Here are the instructions for HIDING YOUR CALORIE COLUMN IN YOUR FOOD DIARY...
If you use Chrome, Firefox or Opera, you'll need to install the Stylish extension in the following manner...
Click on the ONE correct link for the browser you are using
Mozilla Firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-Us/firefox/addon/stylish/
Google Chrome
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/stylish/fjnbnpbmkenffdnngjfgmeleoegfcffe?hl=en
Apple Opera
https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/stylish-for-opera/
Click on the green ‘Add to [browser-name]’ box
Click 'Install now'
Restart your browser as instructed.
There will now be a small box with an S in it visible towards the right side of your browser toolbar. Click that and then choose ‘Write a new style, Blank style’.
Type something in the Name box. Maybe ‘Hide MFP Calories’
Then copy and paste the code below into the big box that has a number 1 next to it...
body#food-diary table.table0 tr.total td.first + td, body#food-diary table.table0 tfoot tr td.first + td, body#food-diary table.table0 tbody tr td.first + td, body#food-diary table.table0 tbody tr.meal_header td.first + td, #account-home #main #status-column #daily-summary { display: none; }
Click Save at top left.
All done! When you visit your food diary again the calories should be hidden. "1 -
has anyone else noticed a problem in setting your goals manually since they've started trying to push the pro version of MVP?0
-
ok, so the latest update has apparently fixed the issue. I can set my goals manually again

Do y'all post somewhere else more frequently?0

the first is strictly VSG, the second is all three. there are a couple of others, but they're not used very often0
