Good morning everyone!!
I had a good day yesterday. It was a lot less stressful than the day before, so that's good. I hit all of my goals.
Tonight I have to get some Valentine's Day shopping done and I'm going to try out my new Jamberry nail wraps. I went to a party a few weeks ago and bought them, but this will be my first attempt at putting them on myself. These are the ones that I'm trying out for Valentine's Day: https://jamberrynails.net/product/silver-floral-on-magenta#.VNyoN-bF9ww
Goals for today:
1. stay within calories
2. 10,000 steps
3. 2 mile run & strength

Good morning. I met all my goals yesterday and was happy about that. Today is going to be a much needed rest day. I have done some kind of workout almost 2 weeks in a row and my body is wanting the rest. I was going to rest yesterday but my cousins were over and we ended up playing basketball.
Goals for today:
1. Rest!
2. Stay under calories.
3. Water.
4. 8-10,000 steps.0 -
Good morning everyone!!!
Yesterday was a good day with nice progress on my pull-up trainingI ditched the cardio to dye my hair and do my nails.
Today I feel very anxious and nervous just like a child on their first day of school. My mind is in overdrive because today is my first day at our new health club/ gym. I have so many hopes and expectations but most of all, I can't wait to put my hands on a barbell. In that moment I will know exactly how I stand. The iron never lies or sugar-coats: you're either strong enough to lift it or not.
I will know today how close I am to squating my bodyweigh in plates..
Have a fabulous day!!!'0 -
Good luck Danelutza, I am sure you will rock it at the gym. The best thing to remember there is always room for progress (*)0

Congrats!! I hope the day comes when I too can say "I can't wait to put my hands on a barbell." Right now I'm still at that "how much longer is this going to take?" stage. LOL0 -
Hi NikonPal, I promise you that once you get familiar with the barbell, and learn proper form, you too will become a fan. You'll be looking forward to every workout just to see how strong you're getting. The time to start is now, no reason to postpone for later, strenght training will make you feel invincible. I started with Stronglifts 5x5 and highly recommend it for everyone:)

I have been doing this 15-minute beginners routine for about a month with 12 lb weights...already getting easy and yes, I can see where you want to keep challenging yourself..a few more weeks and I'll be changing the routine a bit and perhaps poundage too.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0bhE67HuDY
This was a good free tool for me as a beginner - "how can you say you don't have time" if its only 15 min. and it was a great start at forming the habit.
Thanks for the stronglift link.0 -
Hi NikonPal, I just watched the video and I think it's actually great. This routine is basically a circuit training method and it works wonders for burning fat
I would totally recommend it for beginners! I enjoy that it has all the best compound movements: squats, deadlifts, overhead press and bench press. Great find!!! This method provides great results for muscle endurance!
The next level to this would be using a classical weightlifting routine where you take the exact same exercises but break then from the circuit and either use heavier weights or go for high reps.
Example:
Set 1: Take the first exercise, do as many as you can
Rest 1 minute
Set 2: Do the same exercise as many reps as you can
Rest 1 minute
Set 3: Repeat the same exercise as many reps as you can
Rest 1 minute
Go to the second exercise in the circuit
Set 1: as many reps as you can
Rest 1 min
Set 2: as many reps as you can
Rest 1 min
Set 3: as many reps as you can
Rest 1 min
You catch the idea.
Once you get more than 15 reps on one exercise its time to raise the weight by 2 or 3 lb.
I know what you must be thinking, this will make it much easier and longer... Yes, it will be much longer but you would only need to do it twice a week and when you train for max reps you will be very very sore the days after.
Training this way will stimulate a very beneficial hormone response and you will see some awesome improvements.

PS. Instead of buying dumbbells of different weights, using milk jugs is a great alternative: fill them with water and they are at almost 10lb or with sand for 15lb weight. The uneven weight actually makes every workout more challenging0

THANKS Danelutza19 -- Looks like I have my plan for March!0
