How do I post pics here?

Okay, so I'm majorly impaired when it comes to social networking picture posting. I can upload pictures, and I can unearth codes for posting pics a decade ago, but I can't remember how to post pics in a post. I think I remember something about having them uploaded to a server/site somewhere to be able to use in the code, but can't for the life of me. I have some progress pics I'd like to share that have blown my mind this week.
