No rush on responses here since I live in Michigan and won't be kayaking any time soon (ha).
I have a Fitbit Flex now and am hoping to get the FitbitHR any day. I am pretty hard on my Flex now and keep it on all the time unless it's charging. In the summer I do a LOT of kayaking. I don't plan to fall off my kayak but hey, it happens. How hardy is the HR bracelet? Will it be okay when water splashes on it? If it gets dunked for a sec? I think the Flex could handle it but the HR seems more tech-y and Id like to gift my Flex to a friend that wants one.

From what I read the guarantee won't hold for such. I did read a comparison and they said they took a shower with the HR with no problems. I though just as a new user would suggest for you to get a waterproof one. They have some by other companies pretty resonable.
