35 year old female 5'7" 175lbs with a goal of 150lbs. Mfp (log my food) synced with fitbit. Daily calorie burn in 2131 ( I usually burn more) I have it set for 750 calorie deficit to lose 1.5 pd per week. Daily calorie goal is 1350. I tend to eat more calories than my goal but I am still under the "target zone" for fitbit. Should I be eating more or is it better for more weight loss to be under the "target zone"?

I have yet to understand that whole "target zone" thing. I tend to simply look at how much I burn in the day and try to keep my intake such that I end up with my target deficiency. I would expect you would lose more if you hit your 1350 target vs. going over it. JMO.

First of all, 1.5 lbs. per week is way too aggressive a goal at your size. A good rule of thumb is .5 lb. per week for every 25 lbs. you're overweight. The closer you get to goal, the more slowly it comes off. That's just the way the human body works.

Set your goal appropriately, and set your activity level to sedentary: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/change_goals_guided

    Enable negative calorie adjustments: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings

Follow your MFP calorie goal, eating back your adjustments. Ignore your Fitbit calorie goal.

Forget that target zone gauge, most confusing and probably worthless set of data.

It's a snap shot in time of that moment, where eating matches up to calories burned. With no concern about how active you're going to be, or much more you're going to eat.

Just use MFP to worry about eating goal.

No need attempting to follow 2 paths to the same destination.
