Oh, and the March challenge!! You're right Jan!

Jen, can you post about it all over the place?

    http://www.vegoutwithrfs.org

We can register as a team, or individually. But we don't have to do that on day one. We just need to start tracking our vegetables.

    Thank you!!!!!!!!
  • Oh that Carol. She's probably in the air now over northern Mexico.

I will be doing this challenge for sure. Just another way to get those veggies in my diet, which has been a bit lacking the past two weeks. 30 different veggies in 30 days. Hmm, I didn't even know there were 30 vegetables!

Who's going to join me? Carol told me I was in charge. I'm not sure what the means, so I'm just going to wait for her return and let her run the show! Sunday is March 1st, so the challenge starts then.

    Jen,

Looks like the challenge site has a registration with team aws an option. Are we going to use the site tracking and tools? And if so will we have a team. I can see if I can create one

That was too easy. There's now a Fat2FitHQ team.

Hey all. Been away for fatr too long. Got a bit off kilter in a few different ways. It's a long story that combines weather, food, lack of motivation, stress, illness and a few other things that basically made me just stop caring for a couple weeks.

Pretty foolish when I stop and look at how good I have it compared to others, and how small any "problems" I have are.

Well back after it. Re-focused and ready to go. Glad yall are still here and keeping at it!

Kevin, Hey there! I am sorry to hear you have going through a rough time. It seems to be in the air. Glad that you weren't like me and escaped for far too long. Here's to being re-focused and sending good vibes your way:)

Carol!!! Have a wonderful time, even if you will not see this until you get back and by then it will be lost in the chatter.

Cynthia, Hope you had a great leg workout. I have a trainer to hit up since it came with my membership, but he wants to do the evaluation thingy and I keep telling him, "Wait, I want to be thinner and fitter!"

John, Hope you had a good day! THANK YOU for the link. I am going to order some cards (a few of them!). Those things are awesome. I was telling the boyfriend how I wanted to design some myself and voila, they exist. It is a dream come true when I am very ADHD. I occasionally do a plyo card routine that Jamie Eason shared: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/plyo_card_routine.htm

Jen, I'll catch up with you later. Hot yoga comments... :) and you stop being down on yourself. You are ROCKING! Absolutely great results. I am proud of you and you better be proud of yourself or I am comin' for ya! hehe

Kim, I joined the challenge and found you, but have no idea what to do on there. Someone please add me as a friend because it's lonely over there and I will have to turn to talking to strangers!!! http://vegoutwithrfs.org/buddies/kris3b/

This challenge will be fun. I did one awhile back that was a fruit and veggie alphabet challenge with friends on TribeSports. It was a blast trying to find some of those and forced me to try a ton of new things. Every day we would come up with inappropriate fruit and veggie jokes and pics:)

Tried to friend you Kris and it would not let me... listed our team when I registered but I am not seeing a team after getting there....
  • Grrrr, trying to sign up for the challenge and can't seem to get my registration email. Kim & Kris, how long did it take for you to get yours?

Kevin, Thanks for trying. I tried to search for you and see a Kevin. Is that you? This is kind of funny. I found Kim, but then couldn't add her as a friend. Maybe there is something in my settings. I looked around and seems I have everything checked. I will play around in there and figure it out. I can't believe I remembered everyone's call signs. haha I may start playing Marco Polo. Update: It looks like the friend requests work, but there is a wait time until it is accepted (like on here). I went ahead and sent one out to "Kevin" If it isn't you Kevin, then someone is wondering who the heck I am. Apparently you can make shout outs to people using their @ name and they will see it. I am using @kris3b and my other name on there is Kristin B

Jen, I got an email pretty quickly, but their site was acting up and kept giving error messages. They were probably not ready for the troops from Fat2FitHQ charging in. I will send you an email invite from gmail and you can see if it links differently.

John, On Amazon, do I have to do anything other than use the link for your recommendation. I am ordering some card sets:)

Off to hit the treadmill. Was going to be a slug, but need to loosen up my legs a little.

    Happy Friday Folks!

Kris - Yep that link will do it. That will give us a common phraseology for the exercises, and a common understanding of how to do it. I have several different decks but this is the most fundamental of the exercises.

I'm in for the 30 Day veggie challenge will reg tomorrow.

Kevin good to see ya here lad.

Have a great day Folks and Don't forget Operation RED TOP.

Haven't had a chance to figure out the veggie site. This weekend I'll play around. I saw there's a downloadable sheet to track. I may go that route, checking in here with you guys daily then inputting on that site on occasion. When I can sit down and focus on it a bit, I'll decide. In the meantime, not sure the site is ready for prime time x5czhljv9um2.jpg
Trying to figure out what profile it is pulling my picture from. I haven't owned that bike for 3-4 years. But always loved that artsy "my favorite things" picture.

Kevin - don't beat yourself up. Just shake it off and move on. Life happens.

February is historically tough for me regardless of everything else going on. My mom reminded me over the weekend that I have a history of blue February. Used to think it was SAD seasonal affective disorder, I still think that's a bit....bit in actuality I'm aware the days are getting longer...instead I think it's low vitamin D. Even if you go into the winter with decent levels stored in your fat, by now much has been used. I supplement in winter and intentionally get non-sunscreen exposure all summer....but just got blood work that showed pretty low levels. Surprisingly low given all that. Each Feb, I'm a bit out of sorts, tired, drained, unmotivated...and yes kinda sad, depressed. Or at least not as naturally happy, depressed too strong.

Speaking of strong, the astute will notice make lack of mentions of strength traing last couple of weeks. Refer back to unmotivated. The Vail trip got me out of habit. Haven't gotten back on. Will start back Mar 1. Might switch to Wendler 5-3-1. I know, I know, I'm a program jumper. I get bored.

Thankfully February is almost over. March is such a more hopeful month. Spring is near. Even if it'll be in 29s the entire first week.

March challenge is 30 veggies in 30 days. Honestly, I think we should do the whole month - 31 different veggies in 31 days! Great idea Carol.

Jen, cauliflower is my very favorite veggie. Raw, or cooked! I haven't tried the pizza crust either so am curious. I'm leaning toward using low carb tortillas (there's even ones of coconut flour) for that purpose. Keep me posted!

Funny, I'd love to try hot yoga. I never sweat, and am always cold. I think I would love it. There was a bikram yoga place a block from my house when I moved in, but it left less than a month later.

Good workout yesterday. Good eating so far this week. My daughter is doing great on her Whole 30 (much to my surprise). Life is grand!
  • Good morning everybody. Did my last weigh in for the FB challenge and yep, I gained. However, I did still it my 12lb goal for the 8 weeks, so I'm happy about that.

Ok, still no email from the site. Going to try to register again. Talk about frustrating. I want to do this but if I can't get registered, I guess I'll just do it unofficially.

Cynthia, are there 31 vegetables? :stuck_out_tongue:

Kris, Sunday is laundry day silly.

As has already been mentioned it's a good thing February is almost over. Come on March and warmer weather (even though the first week looks to be more of the same).

Holy cow! I finally had to send an email for help on getting registered. Still no emails but at least the person was super helpful and I'm now in. Now I have to find all of my Fat2FitHQ peeps. :)

Ok this site has to be the most confusing I've ever seen. I can't seem to find out how to add friends, other than clicking on the link to Kris that she sent (and then the 'Add Friend' doesn't work). Grrrrr..... I'm not going to let this thing beat me.

John, I am ordering tomorrow morning. Thanks again!

Kim, I immediately started laughing when I say the pic of my profile on your post. That is the same stuff that was coming up for me. LOL! I felt like a crazy woman trying to do it. As for StrongLifts, you are not alone. I have been feeling guilty for not doing it with ya. I just can't right now. With the health stuff, I can't go heavy like that for awhile. Thanks for turning me onto it. I will return. I suffer from depression big time in the winter and I thought last winter was rough, but this year is not better. I have taken antidepressants for it for a short time, but trying to not do it. Not that I have issue with meds, but I am trying to figure out how to get through it without drugs. I took a walk outside today to soak up some sun (even if it was in a parking lot). Sending sunshine your way!

Cynthia, you should try the hot yoga. I have a friend who loves it. I felt trapped, the class had too many people, it stunk in there, and I sweat like mad now. When I was younger, I never did. Actually all the Swedes and Finns on my mom's side do not sweat. lol I like to sweat, just not in front of a bunch of strangers. My dream home would have a rockin' hot sauna. I LOVE sitting in the sauna.

Jen, Congrats on the results for your challenge. You have done a fabulous job. We are doing the veggie challenge whether the site works or not. I laughed when I saw the opening, intro text on the site says something about them working on stuff.

SO, on a scale from 1-10 for crappy workdays (10 being crappiest) today would be a 10! Then when I was driving home I had another one of my headache things and got double vision and vertigo. Had to sit in my car on the side of the expressway. Ugh! Walk in the door in tears and the boyfriend had baked bread and made tasty tuna melts with cream of chicken soup (my favorite canned soup) and he is now baking brownies. Do I feel guilty??? NO WAY! I am going to eat away some stress (I admit it) and watch a movie he rented. I am back on track tomorrow.

    TGIF!

  • Good morning peeps. Kris, I saw that last night on the site. Yep, needs a TON of work!!!

GOOD morning and happy Saturday all. Learned a lesson from my less than great eating last night. Canned soup equals a pile of sodium equals my eyes being swollen shut when I wake up. It is crazy. I hadn't had canned soup in ages. Still was nice and tasty. Unfortunately I was so tired last night that I only made it through 20 minutes of the movie "The Homesman." Heavy movie and when I am complaining about rough days, I need to remember I could have lived on the frontier.

Managed a walk outside this morning and the sun made for a beautiful walk. Off to order those cards and clean. Joy!

Have a great day and weekend.

Another decent drop in my pre-CN weekly weigh in. MFP says 1.3#. Really 1.1 lbs since last Saturday. I was up .2 yesterday morning when I broke my 1weigh in a week rule to get the feet on the scale picture for the end of the FB WLC ( and start of the maintenance challenge). Never fails, if I weigh Friday, I've dropped more by Saturday.

Overall I'm happy with my progress since hiring AJ. Despite still not fully complying. I'm still 200 calories per day avg over what she wants me at ( for the week, factoring in CN). And my macros still aren't exactly what she wants. Slight,t too low protein, too much fat. But as long as I feel good and have somewhat steady decreases, I'm fine with less than perfect. ESP. As this is so easy and intuitive for me. And I do love CN. Even somewhat dialed back.

Oh FYI for the maintenance challenge I choose a wimpy 0% change. Which was a cop out I know. And I'll be using the pre Saturday weight for check ins. I'm sticking to my 1x a week scale pre-CN. I think the maintenance challenge is great...because I wonder how many folks go crazy/ rebound between. I was glad to see the 4% max gain between challenges...which I also saw someone say that will be difficult to maintain.

Which given only 5 weeks between is sad. Again, if you can't sustan something close to what you're doing now, it's the wrong thing. For your long term progress and more importantly your health.

Hot yoga is fun, I don't mind the smell. 10 minutes in and I'm used to it because I am so focus in what I am doing.

Kris, sending good wishes to you!.

Kim, I'm glad that you are happy with your new macro. That is key right? We are all trying to find that happy medium. And yes I have noticed that you haven't been lifting ;)
I think your goals are realistic. Like you said its more about being healthy.

I forgot who asked, but no I'm not going to have surgery. I dont want to and I was told to wait until I absolutely have to. With the advances in medicine who know what will it be in 10 years? It does not impact my day to day life. Well it does now because I injured my knee, but other than that I'm pretty good. I am also told to lay off high heels.. :o Not that I can wear any heels in the near future with my knee being hurt and in a brace lol. I know "first world problem" So the past couple days I made some "tough" choice and clear out all heels that are more than 3 inches. Oh but I did keep my 4 inch boots :p I can hear Arturo saying " you know you are tall right?" ehh I don't think I'm tall.

Jen, congrats on your loss! That's fantastic!

Gonna watch Fury this weekend. Whoo!

You guys are awesome! (Kim, your well wishes didn't get lost in the chatter! )

I'm still in Mexico. Limited/spotty wifi but it's good to unplug.

I opened a Veg Out thread. I will be doing this old school with the paper tracking sheet. Can't manage another social media platform & Kim is right- their site is not ready for prime time.

Kevin: I'm with you. Knee deep in my aunt's chille reyenos & enchiladas these 4 days. Starting to care less & less.
Will need a serious reboot on Monday!

Heron: you are so dang grounded. Your wait and see plan for surgery sounds good. I bet your boots are fabulous!

Jen: again... Congrats on the progress lady!!

Off to check out a nearby mountain with my cousins. Im in Monterrey Mexico...miss my summers here as a kid!
