Hello everyone. I am new to this group and was just diagnosed with PCOS last week. I have had problems since puberty and it only took 12-14 years and a bunch of different doctors to finally get some answers. The doctor was very knowledgeable with what we can do medically (what to take and what to keep an eye on) but other than that it was just "eat right and lose weight". Anyway ... I could use some advice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'm glad you finally found a diagnosis! It seems most girls on here (including me) had symptoms for years without any medical help. For me, once I started taking Metformin, cutting processed sugar, and exercising 5 days a week, I lost 25 lbs in four months, had regular periods for the first time in my life, and was able to have a baby. I was amazed at how the weight came off. I have insulin resistant PCOS, so once my insulin levels were regulated, everything came together for me. Everyone is different, but hopefully you will find the best plan to fit your body. Best wishes as you embark on this new challenge!

    Welcome!

Glad you found us but so sorry you have PCOS. We well know the 'joys' PCOS brings.

Read thru the threads here, there is a whole lot of good info on diets, suppliments, IR and non IR PCOS and other things. So read thru, then ask any questions you might have.
