i'd say a small, short wheelbase frame, single-speed gearing, tough steel frame, strong wheels (often with spoke covers) would cover it - something as tough as old boots, that is going to survive regular contact with other bikes, riders, mallets, the ball and the floor.
In short, something you're quite happy to have smashed to bits on a regular basis, and have the knowhow to repair yourself.
