Just joined the group and wanted to say hello. In years past I've run 3 half-marathons, a 10-miler, a few 10Ks and a bunch of 5Ks. As I gained weight over the years my knees said "NO" to more running, so I stopped running. In the past 6 months I've lost almost 50 pounds and have rediscovered running again. I worked my way up to running 30 minutes straight and have now reached my next goal of running 6 miles. I'm starting to think about a half-marathon in the Fall.
It's amazing to look at the calorie burns... at 202 pounds and 9-minute pace, I burned over 900 calories running 6 miles today.
