How to open the thing?

My mom and i both got a shine and mine opens just fine but we can't get my mom's to open! Is there a trick?!

    Mine came with a little tool that I needed to open it. It's pictured below in the upper right.

    Mine popped right open with the tool. It did require firm pressure, which was a little scary but the Shine was fine!

    Did not see your post till now sorry for that. We got a little metal thing to open is but it is a bit to thick. My mom used a little screwdriver and that worked fine. We are both using it now! Sow far i like her a lot!
