How to get out of brain funk

Funny, I've felt like this since my marathon in January. I was training with a personal running coach from April all the way through with 2 half marathons in between, both PR's, one a sub-2 hour. I couldn't have been more on cloud 9 with my running. Then the marathon happened. Didn't go as expected - I know what happened. But after that, I've been ready to give up running altogether. No more coach (couldn't afford to keep him) and have been sort of 'lost' since then trying to keep training on my own. I wish I could offer some advice but wanted to let you know, you're not alone. I'm surprised by it, I have to say - I never thought I'd feel like this. But honestly, I'm wanting to get back in the the gym more again (weightlifting was my first passion before i started running and had to step back a little bit), and I'd love to just to spin class and kickboxing once in awhile. But I'm terrified to take a total break from running since I"m afraid I'll slip too far backwards. I think you've gotten good advice though. Maybe just take the intensity out of it for a bit - aka the plan - and just run by effort and feel??0
