T.G.I.F.!!!!

Good Morning everyone, happy Friday!!!!

I'm really happy that it's Friday, can't you tell? lol.

My exercise for yesterday is wrong, I didn't do my circuit. Instead my husband took me out to the national forest and we went trail running. According to my Fitbug we ran just over 3 miles so I saw no need to change it on MFP since the calorie burn was pretty much the same. The cool thing about it was that I wasn't expecting to go running (we were mainly out there to listen for turkey's), so I wore flip flops out there and I ended up running the entire 3 miles barefoot and it actually felt pretty good. I think I ran faster without shoes on. My husband has now convinced me that I should purchase some of those toe shoes for barefoot running, so I've been shopping around for a cute, cheap pair online.

This morning I did a nice relaxing 30min. yoga routine, and tonight I think I going to run on the treadmill for about a mile or two and then I'm going to do a quick 30min. circuit. I'm going to get my sweat on tonight lol.

Well I can't wait to hear from ya'll on this wonderful Friday !!!!

"Don't focus on how far you have to go. Focus, instead, on how far you have come." - This is a running quote but I think it applies to all aspects of life.

    Hey Ladies !

Kris, running barefoot in the trail ! OMG !! How I envy you. (There's still 2 foots of snow here).

I have an terrible pain in my neck for 2 days now... Yesterday, I was only able to workout for 15 minutes before I felt I had to stop or I would hurt myself even more. Today I decided I will rest until it goes away.

I have been, working out (sometimes really hard) for one year and I was ok and guess how I got injured ? ... ... ... Knitting ! loll I just got into it, I like it so much but hey... no pain no gain I guess. :p

    Have a nice day.

Isabelle - just be careful. Sometimes pain is a warning. I always hated it when my daughter's cheer coach always said that and pushed her into a worst injury. She was afraid to tell her coach no because everyone would taunt her for being weak. Just use common sense.

And Kris, that does sound fun, running barefoot. I use to do everything barefoot but now I have to protect my back so good running shoes is what I have to do.

So I took my parents out for lunch yesterday for my mother's birthday. They met me at my work and I drove in their car. On the way back they both were sound asleep so I just couldn't go back to my car and say "wake up and drive yourself home". I was too afraid that might cause an accident so I pasted up my work and drove them home. Then I had a 4 mile walk/run back to my car. It was great. Beautiful weather and the sun to my back. I am so glad I am in good enough shape to be able to do that.

Today I got up early enough to go out and clean the back yard (from the dog and the construction). So nice to be outside with this wonderful weather.

Another birthday dinner on Sunday. My baby boy is turning 24? oh my goodness! After the children grow up, time just flies by. Make sure to enjoy every day of your life.

We have an average of 2 birthday dinners a month! It's a good thing I don't like cake!

Never throw in the towel. Use it to wipe off the sweat. Then keep on going.

    Cheers for Friday!

Kris - your love of Friday is infectious. I like the idea of running/walking barefoot but I cannot quite imagine actually trying to do it! I love that you have a great time on your adventure run.

Isabelle. Did I understand correctly? You got a knitting injury? Be careful with your neck I hope it feels better soon.

Alsia - you sound like a very good daughter!

I had a great swim this morning. For the first time in about two weeks I kept up to my goal pace for my mile swim. I am excited about that because I had heard warnings that a low-carb diet could cause low energy/performance while your body adjusts. And that turns out to be true for me. I will never be a fast swimmer but I do like to keep my own pace so that I am challenged during every swim. I do intervals after my warm-up mile but they change from workout to work out so it is the mile pace that I really focus on.

I hope the rest of your day is enjoyable.
