I am considering getting a Jawbone UP Move with the intention of wearing it on my wrist full time, not just for sleep. Does anyone have experience using it this way? Which wrist strap is more comfy, thin or thick? Does the battery last as long as claimed (or close)? Is the syncing good? How's the app?

Sorry for so many questions as my first post. I just want to be sure before I buy.

TIA

The Move is new—I'm not sure how many group members have one. (Most of us have the UP24.)

How is the app? I've heard it's super good, but there's no way to preview it before I buy the tracker.

There are two Jawbone UP apps. The blue one says "tracker required." Download the purple one.

If you don't have a compatible phone or tablet, then you can't use an UP tracker: https://jawbone.com/up/devices

FYI, Fitbit activity trackers can sync (via a dongle) with a computer.

I can use the tracker-just not the app sans tracker.

Did you check the link I posted above and verify that your device is compatible with the Move?

Yup, I'm all good there. But the purple app isn't compatible. Strange I know. Samsung s3 was a generation too soon.

That's weird. You can download the blue app—it just can't collect any data until you get a tracker.

But you can manually input sleep & exercise. And connect your accounts, so you'll see your aggregate meal data in the UP app.

I have the Move & app, but not a wristband yet. I specifically wanted a non-wrist based tracker, hence why I got the Move. I've had it just under a week & found the app useful. It can pull in details from here for the food & then your steps go into here. For sleep I just change modes when I get into bed & put it on the bedside table for the time being. I sync it to my iPad as my S3 mini isn't compatible. I like the fact it gives me an update without syncing though, by using the lights. So if I'm out & about I can press to find out approx how much I've done. Good luck

My phone is compatible, I think I'm gonna go for it.

I spent the first few days doing things as normal to see what my average was. This week I have upped it by 500 steps & will see how I get on with that before upping it again in the next few weeks. I currently have it clipped to my trousers, but clipped it to my sock for one thing last week.

can anyone advise on the widths of the thick and thin straps? I don't see dimensions online that differ between them
