Good morning!
I hit my goals this weekend. I even went rock climbing at an indoor rock wall place this weekend. It was tough, but a lot of fun. I woke up yesterday and today all sore, but the "hurts so good" type.
Started off this morning with a health screening at work. They have these voluntary screenings every year and you can earn money by hitting certain health markers. I hit every single one (although the I would have missed the BMI one, but they allow a waist circumference as well, which I hit). So I earned $350 this morning! I won't get it until January, but its pretty cool. I also got a chair massage there, so all in all not a bad start to the week.
Goals for today:
1. stay within calories
2. 10,000 steps
3. 4 mile run

Good morning everyone!!!
Congratulations SingRunTing, that's fabulous!!! Having your efforts pay off is a big motivational boost!!!!
I have used my weekend to relax and reflect on my plans and evaluate my outcomes. I realized it's so easy to get sucked into doing more and wanting more and also eating more to accomplish such goals. I finally agree that I need to pick a path already, either I want to loose fat or I want to build more muscle and get stronger. Sure, both can happen sometimes, but it's better to have a clear destination for the immediate future. With that in mind it's time for me to refine my food intake and really focus on hitting my macros and calorie limit. As far as training, I will continue to push hard, with the understanding that all I'm really hoping for is to maintain muscle mass and strenght. Anything more is just bonus!
Today, I'm happy about getting in the gym and crushing my workouts. It's back to basics!!!
Have a fabulous day everyone!!!0 -

I could have written all of this. I've been fluctuating up and down about 5 lbs from my goal for weeks now (since the beginning of February, really), and was torn because I would like to lose more but am pretty happy with how I look and also excited about finally trying to really focus on performance/gaining muscle and (admittedly) just wanted a break from dieting. I finally realized that this is getting me nowhere because I am not committing to a specific goal, so I am going to refocus on actually losing the remaining pounds. I'm even really excited about it!
Today's goals are to stick within my calorie goals, log as perfectly as possible, and get in my planned workout.0 -
Good for you SingRunTing!! Great success with your health screening and I knew you would enjoy the rock climbing, it is a great total body workout.
Danelutza I couldn't agree more, I too need to pick a path and stay true for awhile.
Today I took it easy at the gym but I had to try two machines that I made big gains on. The donkey calf raise guess to 400 lbs and I did that with no problem this morning. I also maxed out on the glute isolator machine at 100 lbs. Felt great knowing I was strong enough to do the maximum weight on two machines.
Back to Canada today and my first priority will be losing the vacation weight. Second is lowering body fat, and final will be strength. I will continue strength training so when ready to dedicate to muscle building will have a good foundation to build on.
Happy Monday everyone!0 -
Burned 397 calories today ( 65 minutes of cardio); Weighed in this morning – lost 1 lb for a total loss of 197. Danelutza & Kenda thanks for the congrats on my newsfeed.
Three (3) more lbs to 200; I am happy where I am – but feel like I have to at least “touch base” with that 200 number (even if only temp) – sort of the same thoughts expressed by lemurcat).
You guys are just awesome – “rock climbing”, “getting back to basics” and maxing out on the “glute isolator machine at 100 lbs.”0 -
Wow, I was just reading through all this and it hit me: we are freaking amazing! Even our transgressions and little flaws make us better. We are committed people, walking a path of success, taking detours and learning our lessons. We're all champions!!!!0
