Ok, another I need help thread. We're stopping over in Vegas during our vacation where we'll mostly be hiking national parks in Utah. I'm looking at a nice restaurant to eat at as an early birthday celebration, and I need help picking a restaurant.

This place looks like it's pretty good and it's been around a long time:

Le Cirque mostly gets my attention because of how awesome the desserts look (I'd skip the tasting menus since they all have seafood):

And, the Top of the World would be awesome for the views and the tasting menu looks pretty good too:

Plus I'm sure there are a ton of others since I just started looking. I'm open to all sorts of ideas (although, I don't want to spend $400 a person...).

Vegas has millions of restaurants at all ends of the price and quality spectrum. I haven't been in years but I remember having a great meal at the Venetian in a Mario Batali restaurant.

Was in Vegas last year for a conference. We ate at a restaurant right as you walk in the Paris casino (can't remember the name), and sat out on the patio, which gives a fantastic view of the Bellagio fountain shows.

Food was very good - french inspired (obviously). I recall having a duck breast with some sort of sauce/glaze. And a couple very nice glasses of wine.

Unrelated rant - so one day I let the guy that came with me choose the restaurant for that evening's meal. HE CHOSE THE FRIGGIN CHEESECAKE FACTORY. Good gravy, man, I didn't come all the way to Vegas to eat at the friggin Cheesecake Factory.

Ha, that's like the guy in my French class yesterday when we were supposed to recommend local cuisine to a vistor and he said Red Lobster. I just laughed.

God, I miss Vegas. It's been almost eight years since I've been there. I wanted to take my mom for her 60th birthday last December/as a treat for her knee replacements going well, but she still hasn't had the second one done yet.

This made me laugh because googling "best restaurants in Vegas", and the trip adviser link that showed up had cheesecake factory listed as #2 in their best list. I just backed out of the site because, what a failure.

JEAN PHILLIPE PATISSERE - HOLY CRAP

Sorry, just saw it was for a nice meal and not sweets. In that case, Jean Georges.

Don't worry, I have two Saturday's there. I'm sure I will need a sweet fix at some point during the day... I'll definitely keep an eye out.

They're both in Aria - Jean Phillipe's sandwiches are good too so it's a good place for lunch - they also have savory crepes.
ETA - just remembered that there's also a Jean Phillipe in Bellagio. Have fun! Love me some Vegas :)
