My Fitness Pal not adding calories to Fitbit App

Hi - I have linked my accounts and know this has been done successfully because I am seeing Fitbit data in MyFitnessPal. However when I add food in my fitness pal, which it instructs us to do, it doesn't appear in my fitness pal. My questions are:
1. Do the names of the meals have to match
2. Should it sync straight away or only at the end of the day
3. Does the fact that I have manually input breakfast and lunch straight into fitbit, then set up the connection, and then added tea into MyFitness Pal make a difference

I hope someone can help?

All I know is I enter my food into MFP and let the Fitbit (charge HR) do the rest.....I set my band of manually when starting a workout...then change the name of that in FB dashboard...so there I have a log of all my workouts.....the rest takes care of itself for me.......

There is a good post for fitbit Newbies in here somewhere...it is well wortha read for you...and will answer many questions you have now and in the next week or 4....

Welcome to the world of Data.......

Food and water only sync one way—from MFP to Fitbit. MFP sends aggregate meal data to Fitbit—not individual foods.

The names of the meals and number of meals on both sides have to match.
If you have "Breakfast, Lunch, Afternoon Snack, Dinner" setup on MFP side, they need to match on Fitbit side in order to sync properly.

I added 2 snack meals and later a workout meal to my schedule in MFP. I didn't have to set anything up in Fitbit, the afternoon snack is put there on Fitbit, the evening snack and workout are thrown under the Anytime meal.

Doesn't really matter too much, since no details to them. Though it does help to confirm if that issue of adding whole meals for each food edit you do on MFP is happening.
