Hi, I am new here! Glad I found this group! Not sure if I qualify to be called a long distance runner, but I just finished c25k and did about 53 miles in March. I am preparing to do a 10k race in June (and planning to run 5k in May with my colleagues). I'll try to do a HM in September, we'll see. Anyway, I want to try to do 500 mi in 2015!
I'll be posting my progress and since I never ran more than 5k, I will probably ask you guys a lot of questions!

Welcome. And we all started somewhere. My first three races were all 10Ks. Mind you, they were in 1978, 1985, and 2013. Leapt into full marathons in 2013.

Distance races are those that are 800m or longer. You qualify to be here. It takes distance training to execute a solid 5K.

Welcome! I took up running in 2013, using the C25K program to get started. Still feel like a newbie! Great bunch of people here.

Welcome to the group! Ask away! People here have excellent advice and usually some good stories to go along with it :)

Thanks everybody! I might be too ambitious, but already started training for 10k in June. We'll see how it goes :)
