Sell? A bike? What is this evil of which you speak?

Everyone knows the right number of bicycles to own is N + 1; 'N' being the number of bikes you currently own.

    N - 1 doesn't work :(

I just bought one off a local Facebook group, seems to be a pretty popular idea in my area, and the bloke was just round the corner from me!

Yeah search for local FB groups. I also bought my MTB from a guy 1 mile from me that way. And you get a general idea of the person instead of a faceless CL reply.

What about N -1 where the -1 is replaced by a better more expensive one? Would that be N-1 +1 = Improved Happiness

No. She with most toys, wins. :) lol

This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

Or as my learned colleague (who I share an office with), says "Happy wife, happy life..."

Yeah, I didn't even tell my husband that I've found the next bike I want. He just doesn't understand.

I see people selling road bikes on CL for 1k+ all the time. We recently purchased two new mountain bikes and finished building my loves Frankenbike. We now have six bikes and two bikes that are no longer whole. We live in an apartment so we have two bikes on the front stairs and got rid of our patio furniture so we could store the others out there. Just CLed the two remainders of bike we have, it's the best place to sell them!

For a road bike I would recommend the Online Swap Meet page on Facebook. Mountain bikes on the MTB Swap Meet on Facebook.
