Hey ladies!
Excuse me for the title, I just came up with it during work (considering my job is pretty boring) and it made me think of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, which made me happy
I've just started SL 5x5 this morning and it would be nice to create some kind of challenge/group to talk to during the next weeks.
My story/stats: Maline, woman of 25. 5' (154cm) and currently 123 lbs (56kg) Used to do crossfit for two years and really liked it. But then I lost a baby last year in February due to an ectopic pregnancy and had a complete shityear overall. It was hard coping with the loss and after the sugery I couldn't work out for a couple of months.
Gained around 17 lbs because I didn't work out anymore and I lost all the muscle I build up the two years prior and got fat in place. Now finally back in a good state of mind and ready to start lifting.
Would like to start a challenge from today till 1th of August
Goals:
- Lose those additional 17 pounds (though I look more at inches etc)
- Deadlift 200 pounds (90 kg)
- Backsquat 100 pounds (45kg)
- Swim at least once a week
- lose the cellulite on my bum
- fit into my summerclothes from last year.
Who's in?
Maline.
ps. Big sorry if I make spelling mistakes of any kind. English isn't my first language

Hello @MalineVD!
I'm so sorry about your lost pregnancy. I can't imagine how difficult that is for you emotionally as well as physically. I hope 2015 has been better for you so far.
I think setting goals are a great idea but make sure they're realistic and under your control. I think your exercise goals are good (as long as they're realistic for you). Be careful about your others, though. Setting time limits for weight loss often leads to disappointment, cellulite may not go away, and old clothes may not fit right. Instead, I try to reword aesthetic goals like that to something I have more control over such as see improvement in my body, be better about eating within my calorie goals, etc.
And welcome back to lifting. I hope you enjoy it and the support this group offers!0 -
Hi @MissHolidayGolightly !
Thanks for your response. 2015 has been definitely a lot better than 2014 so far. It was hard to deal with and it still is, but I found a way to kind of give it a place.
For my goals: These are goals that would be nice to accomplish (the aesthetic ones), but I don't hold onto them as hard. I just roughly picked those, because I don't know how my body will react to weightlifting. If my clothes don't fit or I would gain instead of lose, but would be happy with the outlook of the changes my body is making, that would be fine by me too!0 -
OK great thanks for providing more information. That all sounds good then!
