....the fact the date is written the *right* way round because a brit titled it ;)

Just yanking your strings. Today I celebrate the fact my cheat day lasted for the duration of the cheat day and I am totally fine with putting it down and getting back to business today. Looking forward to a few uninterrupted days on plan in fact until Sunday when I know the next cheat will be. Am coming to terms with fitting something in and moving on after my holiday blip that took days to recover from.

Also celebrating the fact my beautiful baby girl and I are having a lovely day together. Shes been to gymnastics today and we are going to the park and clothes shopping now before we collect my other lovely girl from school. They are why I do this

LOL - Cari didn't see your post and started another one. So I'll celebrate doubly by double posting!

Today I'm celebrating that with a lovely raining morning (sky is a beautiful shade of grey) I can let my stress and worries go a way for at least a few moments.

Today I'm also celebrating the return of some blood work for my Friday appointment with the Endocrinologist, even if some results aren't what I wanted/expected or even that I can understand yet...

lise-Nothing like spending one on one time with the kids. Good job with getting back on plan after the cheat day.

Carly- Getting the test results back is a least a step in the right direction to understanding.

Today I celebrate that I have come to terms with the fact that it is time for a new hairstyle. I have made several appointments in the past only to cancel but this time I am going to go through with it. I am going to spend a lot more on my hair than I ever have before but I am ready for a change. Before I always wanted to blend in or hide behind my hair but now I am more confident so I am looking for a big change.

NP Cari, no big deal really. The celebration posts are your baby anyways I only started one so I could tease you all by writing the date differently.

Wendy what you having done? I love having 'different' hair. I'm usually coloured at least one colour, usually two. I currently like my mohawk though so will probably stick with it til autumn. Once Superhuman is over I am growing the top longer so I can curl it rockabilly style for my sisters wedding

Carly whats the craic with the bloods then

Lise, I don't mind who starts the thread... I just figure it keeps us going thinking about all the good we've done.

Wendy, you must post hair cut pictures. Mine is to my shoulders now, and straight..not something I am used to yet. I'm trying to hold off cutting it off till I see if I start losing it or it gets thinner due to RNY surgery. (normally happens around month 5-8). I agree, before I used to hide behind my hair. I too am ready for a big change.... but am SCARED.

Okay, Lise - you got me on this one... What does this mean? What's the story? If so, here's more or less the summary so far...

I got a ton of blood work done this week - some results are back and some aren't. When I can understand what the heck it all means (71 tests and counting so far! OMG), I'll advise. I see my endocrinologist on Friday. What I can say is Triglycerides are down, good cholesterol is up, as is the bad, but I'm waiting on the proof that it is the large fluffy particles that aren't as concerning. A1c and estimated mean glucose are both down a teensy bit, but not where I'd like to see them. Fasting glucose is up just a little. Vitamin B12 is improving, but way too slow for the health of my nerves! Magnesium is a little low but expected that as I skipped my supplement a few days before the test. Most everything else that is back is in the low end of normal range. Looking forward to talking with the doc to get the "big picture" and the little snapshots...

Sounds like things are going in the right direction to me though mate. The news about the blood glucose and A1c is especially great.

Cari I had long hair from 17 to 24 then got fed up one day brushing it 3x a day (my hair is seriously THICK like masses of the damned stuff) and got it all chopped short and it is so much more versatile. Im usually spiky and used to have it blue black with a white blond badger stripe running down one side but my latest style is shaved to a number 2 back and sides and long on top which I mohawk and bleach blond. Between my tattoos and hair I do stick out a little but to me its still hiding. I project a confidence I REALLY dont feel. Put my nurse uniform on me and I can talk to anybody and come across as someone who goes a million miles an hour when in fact Im a neurotic anxious socially awkward mess lmao, we all hide i think

Cut myself off. I'd say just go for it, I always shrug if it doesnt come off perfect and say to my hubs 'good job hair grows eh'. He loves my hair and when I first met him was dead set against short hair on a woman but says it suits my personality. Enjoy it honestly xxx

And yes pictures from both of you please

I wish I had the confidence to go for something way out there style but as the time gets closer I seem to be taming it down more and more :(. Right now my hair is all one length, straight, brown, shoulder length. Pretty boring. It was a lot longer up until about 6 months ago.

This time I am going shorter. I am sticking to the chin length in front and shorter in back. I really, really want a blue streak in it somewhere but I think I will probably chicken out on that. I am definitely getting blonde highlights...nice bold ones. I want people to look at me and notice the change not just be like...hmm did you do something different? I'm most worried about the length drawing attention to my chin/neck skin but Lise is right...it will grow back. Doesn't change the fact that I am scared since it seems very bold for a mom of five who has spent most her life trying not to be noticed.

To be honest I had a hair dresser once tell me the cut wont draw attention to you like the attitude will. I was questioning whether I could get away with the shaved hair as I am quite round in the face when I gain weight and she told me if you are confident in it you will pull it off. So I thought sod it and had it buzzed. The blue would look great its such a nice colour to streak through. But if not slices of blond are great too.

In my youth, my hair has been every color, shape, and form. I've gone from butt length to chin length in one cut. I've gone from ash blonde (my normalish color) to bleach blond (ala Marilyn) or Dr. Pepper red... but I haven't had the urge to dye it lately. It's long enough now that it brushes my butt when I sit down. I want to trim it to get some dead ends off, but since I've left it alone, my natural highlights are returning, though I would prefer it darker... LOL

I haven't so much as paid for a haircut in over 2 years a I can't afford it. I am so LOW MAINTENANCE about my hair, no way I am doing a stylish cut. If I can't throw it in a barrette or pony tail/braid, it ain't happening...lol

Lol. It took me years to grow my hair long. Although its horrendously thick it all grows from the top so it takes forever to grow long so once it was gone that was it. TBH its a PITA having to have the buzz cut done so regularly but ive found a fairly inexpensive hairdresser who does the mohawk for me and Neil will often shave the rest with his clippers in between appts. Im kinda bored of my blond and black colours atm and considering doing my mohawk red but thats beyond my home dying abilities and will need a trip to the salon to fix it
