I've switched protein mixes at least 6 times... finally found one I liked but... it's on the pricey side so I'm wondering if I wasn't better off mixing my own... I do remember finding a web site that would allow you to create your own mix but I'm not opposed to buy individual ingredients and then making small batches... anyone tried?

I haven't tried it, but I found this recipe online: http://www.thefirstmess.com/2012/01/09/vegan-protein-mix/

It's definitely not as much protein as commercial products, but I do like to be able to make things myself.

I just keep a variety of powders on hand and mix up whatever I feel like when I make my smoothie. I use hemp powder and brown rice powder mostly. Sometimes I buy plain/natural flavor and sometimes vanilla flavor. I just bought a vanilla flavored pea protein powder to start using. I also use a plant protein mix from Vitacost.com. I use whole chia seeds and/or hemp seeds and usually some type of nut in my smoothies. If I want it sweeter I add agave, honey, or dates and if I want it more vanilla flavored I add vanilla extract and if I want chocolate I add cocoa powder.

Maybe that is not the answer you're looking for but the combos are endless and you can make up whatever you want at that moment in time with very little additional effort (besides opening a few containers versus one of a pre-mixed powder).

This site lets you create a custom mix right in their store, even down to what flavorings and how much sugar you want...

    Pretty reasonable prices, too!
