I am going out for knee surgery on the 19th but am so excited because there are two (maybe three) clinics I am planning on attending this year! The 16th there is one day with a friend that I know will help me out if the old knee isn't up to it. My new horse and I attend one of her 3 days last year and I am so excited for her to see how he has softened and is more trusting!
I actually found a 3 day barefoot trimming clinic in Spokane and that is going on a week after my surgery. It is classroom so I should be fine. I am stoked about that! Want to make sure I have been doing this right even though my farrier says yeas :-)
Then I am thinking of auditing a Buchanan clinic. I just so want to see him work his horses! I wont be ready to participatee (nor can I afford it!) but sure can pay the 30 buck audit fee!
Anybody out there have plans?! what about Julie Goodnight yoga/ride retreat in Colorado in October??

No clinic plans here, but I did make it to the first annual High Desert Horse Expo this weekend. It was nice for the first time, and they said next year would be even bigger!
I got some free chapstick with spf 15, and some free samples of treats and supplements for the ponies. And best of all, free stuff from the BLM Mustang program including pens, pencils, and carabiner clips for hanging gear off my saddle!
Then I came home and went for a horse ride! I could really get into yoga and horses together!0 -
I did the trimming clinic and it was great! I did not know what I did not know! So glad the expo was good! Sometimes they are sometimes not. I haven't been to one in 5 years. I did get one day clinic in before surgery. Dakota did great and I cant wait to work on some things with him from the saddle!0

Glad you enjoyed the clinics! I am jealous--I keep looking for one to go to, but haven't found anything interesting. Either too advanced, too far, etc. I would love to try yoga on horseback. I found a farm in Connecticut that does it, so maybe I will just book a weekend there. When I can afford it. I also heard about a yoga horseback retreat in Arizona that sounded fun, but would be expensive to fly out there.0

In June I rode in a 3-day Pat Puckett clinic here in SoCal (his passion is the Californio bridle horse) and got to work with my girl on cows the 3rd day (love the cows!). Planning to attend another in October along with one evening's roping class. Next spring I plan to ride with Buck Brannaman in Horsemanship 1 (I participated in his Foundation Horsemanship clinic in Spring '14). And keeping my eye out to audit something or ride with John Saint Ryan.0
