Lose 5 Challenge -- Open Now for May

Hi everyone! The next month in the Lose 5 Challenge is about to begin here on our new home -- MFP. Whether you are a veteran of the Lose 5 Challenges, a newbie on NS looking to get an extra spark in your weight loss, or a maintainer looking for a place to call home... the Lose 5 challenge in May will begin May 1. This challenge will be ran only on My Fitness Pal in the Lose 5 Group. If you are interested, head over to http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en...ose-5-ns-group. You must tell us your NS username before we will accept you in the group! This is for security purposes.

Here are the general guidelines.

Welcome to the Lose 5 Challenge! This will be an ongoing challenge beginning on the 1st of each month. This month’s theme is "MAY-king a fresh start!" May features spring in full force and allows us the opportunity to start getting outdoors on a more regular basis. Hopefully you will be able to get out and get some fresh air and some exercise at the same time. Summer is right around the corner.....now is the time to get serious. Let’s do this!

Myself and yankny631 (Christine) will be serving as your co-hosts of these Lose 5 challenges.

On Friday May 1st log in to the Challenge thread and post the starting weight when you began NS, your current weight as of 5/1, and your goal weight for the month. Then just sign in and post your weight on the appropriate date block every Friday. The final weigh in will be on the last day of the month. Each Saturday or Sunday morning, we will post the top 5 losers for the week and as the challenge progresses, we will also post a list of the top 5 losers of the Challenge to date. Once the initial weigh in is done, I will post a link on this page to the challenge spreadsheet which you will each be able to access to see how everyone is doing in the challenge and how the total team is doing as well. At the end of the month, I will post the winner of the challenge as well as the 4 runner-ups.

Additionally, we are continuing the optional exercise component this month. Each week when you report your weight and days at 100%, you may also report your E minutes for the week. Will will post listing of all those who reached 100 mins as well with weekly results.

***Note to maintainers - We do not expect you to Lose 5 but we know you have to work your own program to keep maintaining. Welcome ; we look forward to having you as fine examples if how the NS program works.***

ELIGIBILITY TO WIN THE CHALLENGE (OR RECEIVE RUNNER UP DISTINCTION): 1) You must weigh in on each designated WI day (it can be in the morning, noon, or night… but it must be on that WI day). 2) You must participate in the thread beyond the single WI post. It doesn’t have to be much. Just stay involved. There is no minimum amount… just talk. We can’t learn from you and you can’t learn from us if you aren’t posting.

Here's what you do: Copy and paste this format ( delete all the () info next to the headings) into a new message and fill in your info and then each week you will copy and paste the previous week's post into a new message and add your new info. I will use the info in your posts to put your numbers into the spreadsheet so I can track how each of us are doing. (You might want to copy and paste this info into a word doc so you don’t have to search for it throughout the month.)

    Just click on the link Gary gave, then click on Join this Group. A box will pop up asking why you want to join. Just remember to give your Nutrisystem username too. Then click OK or whatever the button says to send it off!
