where do you wear your fitbit during dance class?

hi all! i have a flex and i usually wear it on my hip, except when i zumba, then i tie it to my shoelace and log my exercise after. however, last night i forgot to move it from my hip and it appears that i received many more 'steps' than usual.

so i am wondering, am i getting less steps than i should on my foot, or more steps than i should on my hip? i know nowhere will be exactly perfect; i would just like to know the best place. the exercise cals for my days were about the same...

    Why not just leave it on your wrist? I don't have a Flex, I have a Charge HR (so I'd want to leave it on my wrist to detect HR in any case), but it detects my steps while I do Zumba just fine.

    If it is on your foot, it may be missing as many as half the steps. The calories may have been about the same because the impact detected when on your foot is higher than it is calibrated to expect. If you don't want to wear it on your wrist, then I'd say you should wear it somewhere on your torso instead.
