OK, so you probably didn't notice I was missing. But I was traveling for work and fun and I have to say I REALLY missed this group!!! And, I missed eating healthy all the time - I feel awful!! I did much better than I had in the past but I am really not good at eating in restaurants for every meal. I would start out each day with a healthy breakfast, but by the end of the day my good intentions would dissolve in a plate of fries. UGH! I have one more trip coming up for 4 days, leaving next Thursday, and I need to feel good again by then!! And that trip shouldn't be such a bad-eating marathon.

It's not that I don't know HOW to eat healthy in a restaurant - I just don't, most of the time. One or two meals every now and then, no problem, I can handle that. But a week of restaurant meals? Just seemed like too much work which I realize is an EXCUSE and nothing more. I just find I do much, much better when I can control everything I eat. How about you guys, do you find the same, or are you able to just work the program no matter where you are eating?

I did keep up with exercise, so that was good. I couldn't do the 21 Day Fix videos but I did walk a TON every day, and each morning I did some exercises on my bed in the hotel room like ab work, legs, etc. But I am ready for Autumn to kick my butt again!!!!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Jill

Welcome back! I don't go away too often so can't offer any advice on eating out all the time. I would probably try for salads, veg and lean protein? Sorry I am not of any help really, just wanted to say welcome back:)

@jpkrueger I noticed. I don't know why but I was sent a copy of Dr Oz's magazine. It might be a gift from my mother who likes to send me magazine subscriptions. Anyway, the May 2015 issue has a spread on what to order at many of the usual chain food places from fast food (Burger King, Dairy Queen, etc.) to national restaurants (Applebee's, Cheesecake Factory, etc.). Each restaurant listed has one or two suggestions of healthy choices. You may have to shuffle things a bit to make them Fix Approved though. So, for instance, the IHOP recommendation includes an English muffin but it doesn't say whole wheat so if they offer a whole wheat English Muffing, I'd get that. And you can always order things without butter and/or dressing and such. Or do what my husband often does and make a sandwich "open face" by removing the top bun/slice of bread. Always order the dressing on the side because most places put waaaaay too much on a salad. And carry stevia with you so you won't have to rely on other sweeteners.

Thank you @SatiaRenee , really good tips! I definitely made better choices than I would have in the past, so that's improvement. I think it was my portions that were the biggest problem. I have GOT to learn that just because I'm served something doesn't mean I have to eat it ALL. But it was yummy and I like to eat so...yeah. Well I have been back on track all day and it feels SO good. I'm completely jetlagged...was up at 4 am...yet I feel more energized today than I did after eating heavy meals during my trip. I know...DUH!!!!
