Hi
I could be wrong however in New York City they fought for a $15 minimum wage as well as out west and I believe that is a reference to that. I do recall seeing a story where a bookstore that supported the $15 wage ended up closing due to the increase in cost cause by it.
I could be wrong in my supposition that raising the Minimum wage to $15 an hour will have several effects such as
Eliminate some jobs
Cause prices to rise
Cause some marginal businesses that are just making it now close
Cause anybody on a fixed income to have more problems making ends meet
Cause people that suddenly make more pay more income tax
Cause everybody else that works to expect their wages to rise by the same amount
As I say I could be wrong.....
Cheers
