My husband showed me a video of this the other night and while my heart was in my throat the whole time it is a great idea. Especially anyone who lives near any body of water, we do not have a pool but most of my family and friends do. Lets face it ladies no matter how we would like to be everywhere our children are its just not possible. With my first child I made sure he learned to swim as early as possible so he would not be afraid of water and learn to respect the water and hopefully not play around it.
I considered doing lessons for my youngest since it is a neat concept for them to learn so they can either cry out for help or get themselves safely to the side. Unfortunately we do not have this in our area yet. I used to American Red Cross swimming lessons and at that time I had never heard of this. I have enclosed a link (hopefully it works) if you would like to learn more info or watch the videos.

I've seen that, it's so crazy, but a good idea especially for kids that are around water a lot0

I'm not sure if I want to go so far as submerging him this early, but I do plan on getting him used to being in the water and learning how to swim as soon as he can.0

We submerged Devon at 3 1/2 months with no problems. He loves the water and at 8 months can almost float unassisted on his back. I really want him to be water safe and know how to roll over onto his back if he needs to. I can't see the link on my phone but I still think babies in the water is a generally good idea.0

I am a crazy advocate for children learning to swim early. I taught my son myself when he was 7 months old only because he was a fall baby and we didn't have indoor facilities otherwise he would have been sooner. I have already started with my daughter she is 5 months old. We do not have a pool but my in laws do and we have friends with them and I know all to well how easy it is for a child to wander away (My aunts BF lost her grandson because of an unlocked sliding glass door that led to a pool). If anyone has their child take or have taken these lessons I would be really curious to see how they liked them unfortunately we do not have any one in my area, but I think its a great technique.0
