I just flew round trip to Seattle for golf. It is a trip I have avoided taking for years because the plane flights would have been uncomfortable.
At my largest, I was iffy for belt extenders, so when I wedged myself into a seat, i would immediately check the seat belt to see if I needed the extender. As I sat down on my flight out there, I followed the same habit and buckled in. The guy in the window seat told me I shouldn't bother to buckle in as I would have to get up to let the middle seat guy sit down. It was only then I realized that I had only buckled in to see if the belt fit. I almost took the same picture you did!
Way to go!

SUPER!!! I loved that feeling the first time I traveled after surgery!0

One of my favorite NSVs! I had mine about 4 months out of surgery on the flight home from Alaska. Final plane and was the first time I didn't need an extender. The husband always quietly asked a flight attendant as he knew I was embarrassed. I was so proud to be able to give it back and tell her I didn't need it after all. When we got home I checked out my car. I needed one there too. I was able to get rid of that one too! Awesome feeling!
Great NSV girl! You are doing awesome!!0 -

Thanks everyone! I think the lady next to me thought I was a nutcase taking the picture but I don't care! You all know the true pain needing one carries emotionally - I almost danced in aisle!0

I travel for work (a lot) and this is one of the things that I most look forward to.
I actually bought my own extender a couple of years ago...but then I started flying on Southwest frequently and their buckles are different.
It was a wake up call for me and contributed to my decision to move forward with surgery this year.
Tentative surgery date is early to mid July.0 -
Good luck Amanda! It will be here before you know it This and crossing my legs were biggies on my NSV list my legs are almost there too lol it's the simple things that others take for granted isn't it. I need to come up with some new big ones to replace my goals everytime I acheive one!0

Big congrats on the great NSV!
I am going to be experiencing that soon! My trip is coming up and this will be the 1st time I will not have to ask for a seat belt extension!
