Surge question

So after a One and a Charge I've bitten the fitbit bullet and ordered a Surge, planning on selling my Charge to recoup a little of the cost. But I do have a cpl of questions
1. Im a nurse so I cant wear a wrist watch as I have to be bare below the elbow. Will the surge still track steps in my pocket the way my Charge does even though its not picking up HR?
2. Is the surge similarly sized to the Charge as Ive got small wrists yet a small band on the Charge still barely fit me so with this in mind have ordered a large Surge
3. I see it will let you fiddle with your music through the wrist. Does anyone know if this works with Amazon music player as my music is streamed to my phone rather than being music files on the phone.
4. I have a Sony Xperia z3 compact. I am pretty much assuming it will pair. Does anyone have a similarcombo and are they ok together.

Small Charge fits wrists 5.5–6.5 inches. Large Surge fits 6.3–7.8".0 -
Ah I should be ok then I think mine is about 6.5-7 though hoping to get smaller once i lose more weight i doubt i will lose loads more than that0

All Fitbits use the same app, so if it works for your Charge it'll work for your Surge. Here's a list of compatible devices: http://www.fitbit.com/devices0 -

Yep of course it will, not sure why I questioned that. But thankyou for taking the time to answer me

No worries!
Also, you can sync multiple Fitbits to the same account. So if you still have your One, wear that at work rather than sticking your Surge in your pocket.0 -
I sadly dont have my One anymore it went to Fitbit heaven. And I need to sell the charge as the Surge made my credit card cry lol. So it will just be the surge on its lonesome. But Im assuming it would still act the same way as the Charge just minus the HR function if it were in my pocket0

Did you previously have a Charge, or a Charge HR?
I have found that the problem with just taking off my Charge HR and putting it in my pocket is that the heart rate sensor gets really confused. I end up with weird, high heart rate readings that throw off the estimated calorie burn significantly. One would think that if it is set to "Auto" then it would figure out that it doesn't have a good signal and throw out those readings, but it doesn't seem to. Plus, I suspect it drains the battery fairly quickly when it can't get a good heart rate signal. My solution, when I want to carry it in my pocket, is to turn off the heart rate function. Then it works fine. I've had trouble in the past turning off the heart rate function using the Android phone app, so I try to do it at home, on my laptop, before I go out.
You should be aware that the physical size of the Surge is gigantic (in my opinion). Much, much bigger than the Charge. Too big for me.0 -
Currently just have a plain charge no hr function. Will try just switching it off at work then. Didn't realise it was huge I knew it was bigger but it looks like watch sized in the pic0

It's the size of a very large man's watch. Like all the smart watches out there, it needs a lot of area to display stuff.0
